Single Round Kill (Spoilish) Not really putting up anything impressing in the single round kill department with this guy. But I just offed Judge Death in single round. I looked up your dump, and that first blow was Aglarang, and I bet a Rogue gets his total damage quadrupled on a backstab. For fun, lets say you did max damage, so that means, you did something like ((32+37)*4+10)*4=1,148 damage with that blow. Imagine if you had gotten a "Maim" or "Cleave" vorpal hit on top of it! My best read of the source is as follows: The Fire Vulnerable nets a x5 slay. A backstab is a x5 slay, based on a CL50 rogue. A "great hit" is 2x + 10. All of this is cumulative, and all takes place on the 8d4 dice of Aglarang. My +37 to damage gets added last. So the initial hit is: (2*5*5*(8d4) + 10) + 37 or about 1050 (average of 8d4 is 20) on the first hit. So, yeah, that was crucial :-) Normal hits are just 5*(8d4) + 37 for about 137 (average). There are 4 of those. Gouges are 2*5*(8d4) + 37 or about 237 (average). 1 of those. Misses are 0 damage ... 1 of those ;-) Now on to the sword of the dawn (+42 to damage). First swing and a miss. 0 damage. Then one gouge at 2*5*(3d5) + 42, or about 132. One good hit at 2*5*(3d5) + 5 + 42, or about 137. One hit at 5*(3d5) + 42 or about 87, assuming 3d5 always equals 9. Grand Total 2191 so the dice must have been a bit above average for me!! But as you can see, Aglarang did all the heavy lifting. I like to think of this character as a Samurai *Lite*. Mana Branding normally just gives 2.5x slays. And well, Samurais have Lightning Eagle which is a 5x slay. You get the idea :-) Also imagine that the second weapon is really a 10d4 vorpal rather than a 3d5 vorpal ... Seen 1910 times. |
