I don't think his sword is all that useful for me, but I could be wrong. It's certainly no defender longsword.

I don't know if he throws rocks from melee range. I was around 3 squares away from him? I think he'd get attacks of opportunity on me though if I tried shooting him from melee range, since I don't have point blank archery, so that wouldn't go over very well.
