Surprise! TFork 20101020, with the archery revamp... I was playtesting a hobbit slinger on Angband lvl 90, and Gothmog tunneled into view. He's pretty nasty IIRC, like to summon and I think he invokes darkness storms; but my hobbit had the Sling of Thain and a stack of XDemon artifact ammo. I gave Gothmog a welcoming shot and prepared for a long fight... But the first shot floored him. (The strange messages afterward, FWIW, are me trying to figure out how to take a screenshot.) I'm not sure if this is unbalanced or what. It IS how archers are supposed to work now, but one-shotting a unique like that seems a bit much to me. Posted on 20.10.2010 23:44 Comments? I have to say though, this hobbit archer has been more fun than most any other character I've run.
