Handy Cutlass from the Thieve's Quest I scummed the Thieve's Quest with my Ranger Redleaf for about 30 minutes waiting for an excellent item or reward from it and was rewarded with the randart Cutlass 'Seven Tools'. Not earth shattering by any means but certainly very nice for my lvl 4 Ranger who went from 2 blows doing 12 damage with a shortsword - (I purchase this if available as it provides slightly more punch than the starting dagger for a Ranger who starts with begginer skill in it) - to 4 blows for 124 damage. Acid Brand and +4 dex and +20 damage modifier definitely helped Redleaf get through the early going quite easily. In fact he levelled up from 14-20 in one 10 minute visit to 30' in the Dragon's Lair. Now just need to start filling out resistances and getting some other decent gear as I don't want to kill him stupidly.
