I picked Golem Warrior to make the early game as easy as possible. I got a lucky drop off Grishnakh, the level 6 quest: a randart +20/+9 3d6 axe. Five minutes later, Lagduf dropped another randart weapon.

I just cleared a level with Grendel, Ishikawa, That &^%$ Bat, Alberich, Wormtongue, Rich the Thief, Poor the Thief, Shagrat, and Brodda... the haul was the Phial, Zantetsuken, Werewindle, and a dungeon book and a pattern weapon to sell for $45K.

That means I've found 6 artifact weapons so far, and not a single decent armor beyond the basic Resist Fire/Acid/etc. :p
