As I commented elsewhere, priests are probably the easiest class in TinyAngband (probably even ahead of Warriors) and way stronger than mages. The combination of detection, good attack spells (Dispel Evil), Heal, and decent combat makes them hard to beat. Future versions should probably even out the class balance a little bit, particularly Mages which are really weak right now.

I discovered that Priests have a "clear mind" special ability that regens 5SP/use, so I macroed it to F12 and abused it heavily in the last few levels... combined with heal, I could regen completely in only 10-20 turns.

The last battle was fairly easy. Standard beat up on Morgoth, heal up, continue. My one challenge was not having RConf, and not having brought any !CCW I had to use my healing potions (plus a Celeborn activation) to cure confusion - it seems that the earthquake attacks in this variant confuse in addition to stunning. Morgoth summoned one of Farmer Maggot's dogs :)
