After 1 trip to Amon Rudh Splinter had no recall, hardly any cash and was drained 3 levels from stupidly quaff-testing a !LoseLifeForce, so decided to take a probable death march to Menegroth. Made it in one piece, so he's now doing a bit of gear-finding and levelling in the forests of Doriath before heading back to the dungeon. Angband axe is tempting (once I can uncurse it), even with the huge hit to stealth and Ents' dislike for axes, as it's random power is ESP.

Just back from some fun on AR23. Killed Balcmeg and Ulfast outside a vault, Ulfast dropping nice randart armour. Lured a thunder giant out and killed it (after being 14HP from a ball of electricity), used my RBlind sword to kill a giant black scorpion (ha!), then went and whacked stuff with the angband axe. Loot included a 75% RCold shield, and Boldog. So I'm now carrying 4 weapons, and am feeling almost ready for Mim - shots, traps and wand of shrapnel should work.
