After I found Stormbringer, I ditched my Teleportation scrolls at my house, because I knew I couldn't use them. Then I got the bright idea of uncursing Stormbringer so that I could take it off and teleport if I had to. Then I forgot to pick up my Teleportation scrolls again. And when I recalled to the dungeon I was INSTANTLY swarmed by greater demons. Yeah.

Anyway, this is a fun variant I hadn't tried before and I found it surprisingly easy, at least at the beginning when all the uniques drop {excellent} items for a while. In Vanilla terms, it's like killing Wormtongue two or three times on every trip to the dungeon. The constant sweet drops ended when I reached Hell proper, and by level 4o or so things were getting a lot more challenging; sometimes I would beat on a demon for several consecutive turns, lose half my hitpoints, and wouldn't even be able to knock one star off him. And despite having Resist Nether and Hold Life my experience kept getting drained almost every time I meleed anything, so every time I returned to town I ended up having to scum the Temple for potions of Restore Life Levels.

I think I'll try a magic-using character next time around. I don't feel too bad about this one, seeing as he was only my second Hellband character, but I do regret not having more time to play around with Stormbringer.
