He's still at just 1 blow/round at level 24, so it hasn't quite gone according to plan.
Fortunately, he found a (+11,+14) shortbow right away off a unique (on like level 6. many low level uniques appear to drop excellent items making systematically killing them well worth while.) and it became the initial core of his offense. Holy Orb is its usual great self, but his WIS is mediocre, so he doesn't have the SP for it to be central to his offense.
By dlevel 10, he had found his current crossbow (which is still pummeling monsters nicely 10 levels later) and his scimitar. The scimitar isn't blessed, so it badly crimps his spellcasting, and it doesn't have any damage brands, but a (+20,+15) weapon at his current depth just destroys stuff, so it works out.
He's also got an artifact bow and an artifact dagger sitting in his house, awaiting *ID*, so things are feeling slightly monte haul-ish.

A little jarring to have a significant number of the sinners be neutral and some of the fallen angels actually be good, but from the monster descriptions I guess it was understandable. Still, he was still using his crossbow and 1+1 melee blows until clevel 33 or 34 and dlevel 30, but with obviously decreasing effectiveness.
The appearance of vaults was another rude surprise, which I assume is the cause of Kaschei the Immortal starting to appear on dlevel 32, and showning up on at least every 3rd level since then. I checked to see if maybe he was weaker than I remembered, but he's got 6k hp, so probably not.
Hitting Dis also meant the end of all the yummy (excellent) dropping uniques worth bundles of XP yet still fairly easy to kill (the Titans were worth 5k xp each and dropped 1-3 excellent items, yet were mostly immobile and mediocre spellcasters). After that, it was all fallen angels and demons and things, which were both nastier and more likely to drop (good) items, albeit worth more xp. His equipment has only changed minimally since dlevel 25 or so.
The spell Corrupt Self along with the Polymorf Self mutation have been used a good bit, which was handy, as he picked up the Puny corruption around clevel 25, which hurt his melee even more. He's got a bunch of good corruptions (though attract demons is quite bad and likely to just get worse), plus he's now a half-elf (Devilspawn totally wasn't worth it), which isn't great, but is better than Devilspawn and is at least easy to level.
He's solidly into stat-gain, well past it in depth, really, but he's still found a bunch of the potions, nearly all of which have been STR and DEX. Kinda maddening, really. If he was a warrior, it would be great, but I'd trade all his corruptions for a few WIS and CON potions.
I guess I dove too fast post-Dis (which was reasonable at the time, as killing ghouls wasn't very interesting or rewarding after all the Titans and Kinslayers and stuff of the levels before), as he's kinda playing like a Lost Soul now. Hasn't killed a unique in a while, mostly picking on managable regular monsters. He just took on a Hell Wyrm and despite getting to fully prep himself, was lucky to escape alive. Turns out that even if you're clevel 48, if you don't have good hp OR a decent pool of SP OR a good melee attack, its hard to kill stuff.
So, you're probably wondering how on earth he got to clevel 48 and 4.8M XP while killing just 854 monsters and following the above strategy. The answer - taking advantage of what were likely XP mistakes: Headless Ghosts are worth 30k xp, Nalfeshnees (I think, maybe Hezrous) are worth 40k, and Mariliths are worth 150k.
A demon marquis had a dozen Mariliths as an escort. HolyMutant killed 'em all with Holy Orb (easy, since every time he leveled he got all his SP back) for 1.8M xp.

Post-Dis is definitely meant to be a change in universe, and you seem to have managed that one pretty well.
I will check out those headless ghosts and others, I have copied them from other variants without checking too much ;)
