When rolling your stats, for a sorceror you of course want to set INT to max, but then you'll also want to set STR and CON to within 1 or 2 points of their max. Don't set anything for the other 3 stats at all. That way you're more likely to get what you need - higher CON for more hit points and higher STR so you can carry more stuff.
