I'd recommend wearing celeborn (for the r_disen and activation) and enchanting all your armor up to at least +9, preferably +10 if you're really patient. also, perhaps find some gloves of power for +str instead of your dex gloves. I never think much about armour class. I haven't had any problems killing anything recently, but I was guessing it would get harder when I meet the really deep uniques. I have been reading every enchant armour scroll I find, but then I haven't been at all careful about avoiding disenchanters. I have been carrying mushrooms of stone skin, but I haven't really had the inventory space recently.

The reason I've kept with Winterworn is that I like the immunity to stun. I dread losing a char to heavy stun. Still, you're probably right.

As far as str goes, the heavy weapons all appear to be capped at one blow, at least in this version - unless I missed something in the code.

I was hanging around 4850' for ages, looking for Qlzqqlzuup, and hoping for the Cesti of the Gladiators, Cubragol, or Feanor or Hermes. I got bored in the end, and decided to go for it.

I'd alread decided that using sea-of-runes and a bow would be a complete cop-out, given that I hadn't shot anything all game, except for the odd blinker. So, I went toe-to-toe. I hasted, protected from evil, read an absorb hit, wore the amulet of unmagic, quaffed a beserk strength, quaffed a potion of *resistance* and started wailing on him. I quaffed 10 life potions, 6 *healing* and 2 or 3 healing. I went down as far as 500 hp, but only the once. The rest of the time I was over 800. Took about, at a guess, 25 rounds, healing pretty much every other round, occasionally twice in succession, occasionally not for two rounds.

Morgy summoned the big Q, but I was in a confined space (I'd already dug myself into the rock, and the earthquakes didn't open it up much. one benefit of h-t-h) and I didn't really notice what was summoned, except when I spotted a greater hell wyrm, and read a mass genocide.

I teleported the Q away. I think I'll go and try to kill it now. It's the only unique left.
