Decided to join the Berserker party and see what all the fuss is about. Had a couple of them die until I decided on to use a Gnome so he can at least blink (Phase Door) when he's in trouble (already saved his hide once).

Got Wewewindle from Old Man Willow and Caspanion from Mimic's Treasure Quest so things are starting to look ok.

Just going to start dual wielding now and head off to the Anti-Magic Cave to level up to chlvl 30 or so and then it's off to the Dragon Caves to continue his education.

Opened a chest (instead of carrying it back to town) and lot's of stuff appeared and surrounded him.

That's the thing about the Berserker - you get overconfident coz you're dealing out alot of damage (for your level) but once you make the mistake it's your last.

Will update his dump tonight but there's nothing spectacular about it. I really should go back to my lvl 42 Beastlord and try to win with him but I'm getting the itch for another Berserker blast. Oh well.

Nothing special. Opened trapped chest on lvl 60 of Dragon's lair and was surounded by Planetar and other nasties. Tried blinking around franitically to no avail.

Blink II met a similar fate when he set off an Evil Rune and was surrounded.

Still got the Berserker bug so have decided to start up a Dwarf Berserker for the detect traps/doors ability. This should take care of two glaring weaknesses for the Berserker as he can now avoid traps (specifically really only the Summoning ones area a problem but they can be a death sentence) and being able to find stairs will help in planning battlegrounds.

We'll see how it goes.

I haven't updated his dump because I'm at work at the moment but thought I'd provide details re Cloning Pits quest.

First off - the Artifacts he reaped were really worth the effort - NOT!!!

He found 3:
1. Narsil - (What the hell would you use this for?)

2. Arvdui (Not bad Armour - but too heavy for a Ninja

and last but not least

3. Rhino Armour - Dasai (Great boost to AC +64 but it aggravates so it's unusable as well).

I did also get some basic Black Clothes (Stealth +4) and I guess they might be a candidate for Artifact Creation later...

As it turns out Thror are better better boots for Grimblade at the moment as wearing Shiva loses me 70hps/res Blind and nets me +1speed/res nexus/Levitation. I've stored them at home. This is the first time ever that I've completed the Cloning Pits and won't be using any items gained from it.

Tactically I tried something different and went for the Ant Queens first in a quest to stop the inevitable tide of Fire Ants but this didnt work out. One woke up before I stepped into their little Alcove and it was Ant Central pretty quickly. I killed one of them (thank God for Chain Hook/Swap position/Hide in Flame) and then left the other two for later.

As it was there weren't too many problems - I mopped up the Clones and left the Gachapins and two remaining Ant Queens for last. The second Gachapin summoned Hydras twice but Ninja abilities + Vampiric Dagger (Chain Hook / Swap Position / Kwarimi occasionally & Hide in Flame) proved more than enough without ever feeling in real danger. I was a bit impatient tactically and used my 3 healing and 2 *Healing* potions where I probably could've used Kwarim/teleport etc i to save them but I just wanted to get through it as quickly as possible.

Not sure If this quest can ever be completed without having to wade through a stack of stupid Fire Ants - If anyone has a suggestion I'd be happy to hear it...

Not sure where to go to next - Probably Dragon Caves to try and get some decent gear.
