I think I'm getting a good handle on the Nogrod early game now. Used to die a lot at around 350 feet due to orc champions/trolls, but it's better lately. Prioritizing crowd fighting and power is key. Other abilities like flanking/dodging should also do the trick, but I don't like taking them on dwarves if I can help it. Just doesn't seem right thematically for some reason.

This strategy is more consistent than trying to pool experience to rush early game loremaster. I rarely find myself in an unwinnable situation or behind the power curve thanks to delaying perception, will, and smithing investment. But it also means that regardless of whether I find 2 or 3 use forges early on, I won't be using them to create artefacts.

I have like no potion consumables this run oddly enough. I mean, yes, I use-ID'ed some since I decided not to take loremaster this game, but it's still rather underwhelming.

No longbow this game so I've been meleeing grave wights I see. I figured with up to 16 evasion, I should be fine. If not...well...I'll just close the door on them in future runs. Not much annoys me lately more than grave wights and whispering shadows.

Think it's a good idea to bring a longsword with me, even if I pretty much never use it (power + low dex start + effectively -1 battle axe are all the reasons I need to use the battle axe instead). Only gonna keep it as a swap against vampires and twisted bats pretty much...stuff I really don't want to get hit by that have low protection.

You should make either Rings of DEX or STR

Never liked making rings of dexterity, mostly because they cost more to make than rings of evasion/accuracy and drain your stats (but they do sustain dex which can be useful against vampires I suppose).

Rings of strength I'm not convinced are good on 1 dexterity start smithing builds until late late game. Without those rings of accuracy/evasion, I'd basically never hit anything and get slapped around too much.

I'm beginning to think rings of strength are better than, or at least comparable to, rings of damage though...at least when weapon weight (x2 if with momentum) < strength. Cheaper smithing requirement. Sustains strength. It does drain 1 more strength to make than a ring of damage, but that's usually not a big deal.
