Strength drain screwed me over too hard here. No potions of strength or restoration herb spawned all game.

The first point lost was pretty unlucky. Was luring a grave wight across a bend in a corridor and had to take one hit to do that. And in that one turn, it 1) decided to use drain attack instead of regular attack 2) landed the drain attack 3) and the drain attack went through my will. It wasn't too bad with just -1 strength. Run was going alright. But then on 450 feet, there was another grave wight. I had dodge/flanking and around 15 effective evasion by this point. I got it half hp with arrows and decided to just kill it with melee to save time. And...it got me again.

450 feet was just really awful all around. 100 feet out of depth snow trolls forced me to get dodging/flanking in the first place since I had only 11 evasion when I met them. Giants and distended spiders were bad too. And with the 2nd strength point loss, I became kind of fed up with the run. I had to dump a few pieces of my equipment just to avoid the slow status. When I saw Ulfang I decided to just toss myself at him. If I win, I'll keep trying. If not, then it's on to a new dwarf. I actually got Ulfang really low (like 2 or 3 stars), surprisingly enough.

If I really was desperate to hold on to dear life, I could have wandered aimlessly around 400 - 450 feet, and keep refreshing the level whenever I met something I couldn't handle. But that would take up valuable turns and make me miss at least two or three artefacts. Would be pretty miserable so decided against it.
