Mail Corslet of Fingon's always a nice find. Boots of Irime is pretty mediocre but since it's the only boots in the game that illuminates your steps, I like to keep them around to play around with. Longsword (+1,2d6) [+1] 3.5 lb and Battle Axe of Hador's House (-2,3d5) 4.0 lb are both pretty sweet weapons. Choosing between them can be hard...Unidentified lantern is probably true sight.

Suffering under the curse of the 2 use forges this game apparently. So...maybe no loremaster? Depends on whether I find a 3 use forge first or a staff of understanding I suppose, since I have a ton of trash I'm hauling around just for identification experience.

Ebony staff is narrowed down to sanctity from a tip wobbly gave me, identifying staves by the number of charges.

I may already have a source of rFire on me, from those unidentified rings, but odds are they're worthless rings like hunger and sustenance. Haven't had a chance to make a source of rFire yet and I'm approaching rauko depth. I do feel rather safe with 71 HP, but it's still no substitute for resistances. I'd feel safer if I had a Nargothrond weapon, but that might be a bit greedy. Finding one of those by 500 feet happens less than 50% of the time.

In general, I think rCold is more important than rFire...Snow Trolls aren't too much of a threat when they show up if you have enough evasion, but Ringrauko is something you just can't get away from. A single Ringrauko can destroy your potions or get you low enough for something else to finish you if you don't have rCold by the time you see them, and they rarely come alone. You'll see at least 2 or 3 of them on the same floor when you first encounter them. Fire-drake hatchlings, ruby serpents, and rauko uniques are the only fire threats. Two of those you can close the door on. And Rauko uniques you're usually have to buff up for. And it's a one time thing. You don't even have the option of buffing up for every single Ringrauko you encounter unless you want to run out of consumables real fast.

That's not to say you can comfortably hang around 800 feet with no source of rFire, but if I had to choose one or the other to prioritize getting first, it'd be rCold, hence why I made cloak of warmth before a dwarf mask.
