Addicted to 2 handed weapons...it wasn't until I found Kite Shield of Fingolfin that I brought back the shield. It's honestly still not worth it. I'm only using it because it lets me have silly amounts of HP.

Mail Corslet of Durin...is really good. I've been enjoying regeneration in general. Since a lot of tough fights last a while (with all the whiffing and trying to hit through heavy protection), regeneration can negate a some number of hits worth of damage.

I wish I got more use out of Gloves of Brethil, but it simply wasn't worth the inventory space once I found a gauntlet of strength. Maybe...if I wasn't an elf and had really terrible dexterity to start with such that archery was completely useless to me? Or if I didn't get opportunist? No throwing weapon is returning so the most you can do with it is soften enemies as they walk up or use it to take out low HP enemies that have their back turned. You can't infinitely kite with great speed or sprinting. It would be very awkward to use a throwing-focused build, I feel like.

Found Dagger of Nargil, Angrist, and Greatsword of Saithnar, and almost have song of sharpness unlocked...so Morgoth shouldn't be an issue. That said I won't attempt throne room on this one since my current project is collecting all of the artefacts. Saithar, check. :)

Boots of Finrod is stupidly good as usual. Angrist as well. Used it to carve up ancient serpents and even a nameless one (that took a while).

I was ready to smith a source of rFire after what happened to my last adventurer, but a ring of frost showed up just in time, and Kiteshield of Hador soon after. I ended up just holding onto the shield in case my cloak of warmth blew up, but never used it in the end.

Vallach caught me off guard. He spawned with a ton of troll guards and vampire lords. And he himself was rather scary even with raukobane since he attacks twice as much as I do.

First time in Gothmog's Hall. Four uniques spawned in the same vault, so I ended up having to blow through quite a bit of consumables. Gothmog himself was the worst by far. I don't know if I would have stood a chance without _earthquakes, !quickness, !dexterity, !constitution, or raukobane. I actually accidentally killed Tevildo with _earthquakes when I was trying to stun Gothmog. Never found his drops sadly. Might have been something good in there.

Lungorthin, Draugluin, and Scatha were all joke fights. Lungorthin was just a pain because he spawned in Gothmog's hall and just him being there made it impossible to fight since he shrouded my enemies in darkness. Had to kite them out of the hall and fight each of the uniques separately.

Oh and clarity seems way too good to ever not get...except in very rare cases, such as when you find a mithril helm of clarity. I don't trust iron helms. Too vulnerable to item destruction.

I found out this run that young fire-drakes breath for 16d4. 8d4 even with one stack of fire resistance. I mean I knew they hurt before but I never paid much attention to just how much. I've beat up enough of them this run to avenge my last adventurer, I think.

Oh, I had a brass lantern until 900 feet. That was nervewracking. Felt like a ticking time bomb. Found a mithril corslet to melt down and decided I'd grab jeweller and make my own faenorian lamp once I find a forge because the last thing I wanted to face was a gwathrauko without enough light to see it. However I found a lamp before it got to that point...RNG felt merciful this day.

Lastly...I think I really like this build. I've tried others in the past (subtlety, riposte, flanking/dodging, heavy armor focus, etc.) but this one just feels the most consistent.

Riposte build is good too iirc but I feel like it limits your weapon choices to defender weapons. If you find a good artifact axe or sharpness weapon later that outclasses that defender longsword, you'd probably still swap to it, but you would get less out of parry/riposte.

Flanking/dodging build is awful when the number of enemies exceeds like 5. You want to fight in the open in general to get bonus evasion from dodge, but when there's that many enemies, you're asking to get surrounded, which is terrible most of the time unless you have ridiculous amounts of protection and a fury weapon or something. By that same train of thought, it's not great for the throne room.
