23rd day of the competition provided the helm of Curufin, which in turn provided +2 Stealth & Perception and the ability Listen; which came together with a lot of XP in Song and Stealth to make an overpowered pacifist character.

The death was a sad one, however; I had recognized that I was tired and should stop playing, and I continued to think that as I wield-IDed Fury, chose not to buy Curse-Breaking when I first gained enough XP, and juggled un-IDed items and items I was probably never going to use. Such a disconnect between thought and action seems like a deeper and nastier sort of mistake than any made in the playthrough itself, but that doesn't tell me how to fix it.

It's kinda surprising that I managed to get through 2 floors in such a state, but perhaps the character was just that strong.
