I feel convicted in the death of Hilond.

Another forge drought down to 300'.

I started encountering Easterlings, Orc Champs, and Trolls on 250 regularly, despite not having any Treacherous Paths.

Managed to stay alive by putting lots of points into melee/evasion and keeping a 1k exp buffer so I could make my rings of +2 accuracy when(if) I found the next forge.

I had just been beating around the first chambers of 300' when an emerald serpent attacked me. Then, behind him came a pack of easterlings.

I ended up beating a retreat and then doing a circle of my known map because more enemies kept jumping on the bandwagon. I knew that if I got flanked, I was toast. With 15 evasion I could handle a few rounsd of flanked combat, but not a horde of it.

With this kite, I managed to kill an easterling thru the serpent's poison breath and then take them back to where they jumped me. I was standing at the mouth of the door with my back to room.

Pretty likely something would have came from behind, of course. But, there was enough space I feel like I could have survived another run.

So I started fencing with the warriors and they are a bit tougher than I remember. I even put another point into evasion.

RIP
