7-27 protection at 200 feet. Whew.

I wonder if hauberks or mail corslets are better. 2d6 protection averages out to 7. 2d5 protection averages out to 6. But you lose 1 evasion and 1 melee for it in exchange for that one extra point of protection.

Just nuts...Gorgol crits and hits 4d7 on me. And my armour cancels it completely.

And Gorgol dies without landing a scratch on me even though I only have 2 evasion and 2 to-hit (swapped to the axe).

-5 stealth yikes. Not sure if there's a way to fix that other than pumping stealth, in which case my other stats suffer. Or maybe you don't need to because you can just sit in one spot and take on the entire level all at once?

I don't usually mind stealth too much, but it still feels a little off to have such a terrible stealth score.

Wow...I've never seen anything like it. There's THREE forges on this floor.

2 use, 3 use, and 4 use.

And this floor isn't fully explored yet...

2 use enchanted forge on this level. Going to make a con amulet for sure. As for what else, I'm trying to figure that out by exploring the level. I have rFire already. Could get a ring of warmth perhaps.

Also face to face with a giant right now...this looks iffy.

I guess...rather than try to fight everything, I should have dove quicker? Game forced me to skip 450 feet into 500 directly. Never had that happen before where my current depth is lower than the minimum depth.

At least I have an idea now what artistry builds with a protection focus feels like.

Can get up to 11 base protection once I have heavy armour use.

I did find this run pretty amusing, although also a bit tiresome (because I couldn't kill anything!). Until I met distended spiders and giants, pretty much nothing managed to get me below three quarters health. Half of the stuff in the dungeon I could have just ignored because they wouldn't have been able to kill me even if I stood still for a hundred turns.

Even giants weren't actually issues. I expected them to bash through my armor, but unless they got a 5d9 crit off, they wouldn't even go through my armour most of the time. I think the first one I met managed to get me down to 60% HP?

Wights, however, are really tough to deal with (because their touch only checks evasion, and then will). With the Hauberk, I had a -1 archery score. And it goes without saying my evasion sucked. Good thing I got free action when I did. I could have also just swapped to the final rest bastard sword as needed, but eh, I'd rather not be tied down to an inferior weapon.
