well i guess I'll never find out what those gauntlets were...

That was an odd death. I had 3-4 weapons on me originally, and they each got disarmed from me between an orc captain and othrod. Then a orc thief scooped them up and ran out of sight. So I was left with a throwing axe for a weapon.

Could have lived if I dove to the chasm beside me or just used my consumables, but I was kinda tired of not being able to kill anything. Got strength drained earlier by a wight, and that only made things worse.

The only thing I consciously did different this game was to pump higher perception than usual. I also happened to delay getting combat skills because I wanted to see what the dungeon would offer. Should have gotten power earlier probably.

How do more experienced players deal with mid-game packs of Easterlings and orc warrior packs? I don't usually die to them now unless I let myself. But the issue is they just feel unkillable. Like hundreds of turns wasted just exchanging blows, and barely making a dent to their ranks.

I would have herded the warriors to a stairs if I had my gondolin weapon still (thief stole it), but otherwise, I just found that I'd be stuck there.

I would train melee more heavily over evasion, but then uniques, trolls, wargsm, and giants just rip you to pieces. So I try to have a decent evasion as well. But when that happens Easterlings become a huge problem. They can sit and tank my blows all day. And I waste a stupid amount of turns on 300-500 feet trying to get through them as a result.

I guess...swap to a 2H'ed weapon would be the natural solution?
