Ahhh, RNG likes to mess with me so much. 2 levels in a row cut in half by chasms, followed by one blockaded by rubble. I have good gear, but if I can't get to a 3 use forge soon, I'm gonna have to start use-IDing...

At this point, I should just make a boots of leaping and a mattock on my first forge...

3 use forge! About time. I think the room is covered with whispeirng shadows though because my final rest weapon is glowing...

Found my first artefact. Amrod isn't very useful for this build though...more so when I went the power route. I'm not sure what else to get after getting power though.

There's a lot of skills that synergize with the finesse tree, like parry/riposte/momentum/subtlety/dodging/flanking. But when I go power, it's like I just have to wait until I can get knockback before I get any meaningful skills. Charge is okay, but it only works for the first attack unless you're dancing around a door back and forth (which I feel is suboptimal and just wastes time that the enemy could be using to wrap around you from behind) or fighting a plant. Charge + cruel blow could be an interesting combo, but that's again for finesse builds.

Maybe...controlled retreat and focused attack? Though that wouldn't work too well versus enemies with breath attacks...

Crowd fighting + follow-through + zone of control + whirlwind attack might be good too, although crowd fighting itself is an odd skill. The issue with getting surrounded isn't just that your enemies get bonus to-hit. It's that multiple enemies are hitting you each turn, and it's in a roguelike player's blood to avoid those types of situations by fighting in corridors.

Terrible turn count even for my standards, but at least I'm alive!

Was -1 strength drained and then found myself webbed by a distended spider. Quaffed a !str and took no chances. 2 strength is already iffy.

I guess RNGesus felt bad about what happened on 500 feet, so he made Ulfang deliver Anguirel to me. I decided to dump my fine battle axe. It's served me well, but I can't say no to Anguirel.

With a weapon like that, I'm not sure I need to craft a masterpiece weapon...will probably get opportunist and rapid attack soon.
