Used to think kite shields weren't good, but now I'm beginning to think they're actually amazing, especially early game when you don't have a lot of armor.

Yep. Beor seems a lot easier. Also sword spider guarding a battle axe...I want that axe grr.

Wow, thief stole my shovel then bolted down the stairs!

Got forced off 350 feet a few too many times...respect to those who play with the disconnected stairs challenge. Game doesn't have any mercy.

Walks downstairs. Everything is dark. Go through first door. Everything is still dark. Sees a 3 easterling warriors, 2 mountain trolls, and a orc champion, forced to back out due to not knowing what's behind me. Probably should have popped a _light charge. Somehow I have 3 of them now. Back then still only had one.

Walk down another stairs. Takes first door. Gets shot at by archers. Whittle down the archers. Wargs come through the stairs. Kill wargs. Kill archers. Walk left. Suddenly a bunch of easterling warriors and 2 mountain trolls. Mountain trolls hit too hard when they land a hit, and with so many easterling warriors, they get bonuses to their to-hit unless I fight them in a corridor. But I don't want to do that because I'm using dodging/flanking. Plus it's tough enough to take out one mountain troll with how much HP they have. 2 is too risky. It's a good thing I bailed too because there were orcs coming. If I get surrounded, I'm dead.

Tries another stair. Starts resting because I'm low HP. Mountain troll comes through door. No problem. I'll take him out. Oh, there's a white wolf behind him. That's okay too. I take them on only to find there's not one white wolf. There's a pack of them. Another another troll. The room I spawned in was cramped. I get surrounded due to poor decision-making. Almost died and had to use my only !orcish liquor. Used up a !strength and !quickness too.

I'm finally on 350 feet and it's starting to look up. But wow, that was rough.

Hmm, think we're good for now. Only 1 !quickness left, but at least we have 3 !orcish liquors and 3 herbs of rage.

Perhaps I shouldn't have picked up keen senses though. I still feel pretty weak. If only I found some slaying weapons...

Still no light source other than wooden torches surprisingly.

Perhaps this situation calls for an herb of rage.

Wasn't enough...just too many of them. Kept on coming in from behind me. Eventually got cornered, and lost 30+ HP in one turn.

Maybe I should have stayed my ground and fought the ones who came from behind me instead of taking it out into the open where it's actually more different to move. 5 unused orcish potions. Just never had the chance to use them.

Despite all my dancing around 300-350 feet, it turned out that no artefacts were missed. None spawned this game according to mpa-sil.

It feels like it's been forever since I've last seen an artefact. I've found them as early as 100 feet before. Perhaps I just got extremely lucky then. I suppose they must mostly spawn past 400-500 feet, because that's where I usually leave my characters.

Back when I started first playing Sil (around Christmas), I'd die on a Noldor even if you gave me a ridiculous weapon from a Christmas box. Hilarious to think about that now. Wasted many good Christmas characters.
