Yeah your right about wights. I guess I don't notice because they're territorial. They won't come towards you if you block los unless you're between them & home.

That said, I think that fight was doomed. Duruin was 100' out of depth. He has 70hp and [+13,4d4] defense. You had 1d10 for your weapon, so you'd really need a double critical to penetrate his protection. With a 2 pound weapon, subtlety, and finesse, I think that means you need your combat roll to be at least 12 better than his defense roll. I think Anydice.com says that only happens 11% of the time (http://anydice.com/program/7f6f).
