I had found a really nice Chaotic Broadsword of Life that gave Chaos and Confusion resistances and a pretty solid boost to my HP, but then Adunaphel snuck up on my when I wasn't looking and broke both that and my +2 EA Aman Longsword.

I did, however, have better luck with her fellow Nazgul, Akhorahil, whose ring granted me Fire Immunity and a few key resists I was missing, namely Blindness and Sound.

For now I'm just going to continue to collect XP and loot, hopefully without overstepping my safety limits.

Staff can and will fail you sometimes. Staffs can break and burn, 15+ scrolls can not burn at once (well... I havent seen that happening). Also some monsters can eat staff charges. Later on (pretty much by level 40) you *NEED* to teleport instantly sometimes to survive...

Scrolls are reliable, unless you go blind.
