Let's take another whack at it, shall we?

Deferred the reward for a quest again because it was only au--it feels like I hardly ever get anything worthwhile from early quests.

They keep on trying to give me au as a quest reward! D:

Finally got presented with a choice of rewards that weren't au--too bad none of them were particularly good.

Oh yeah, I know--I've played before.

Mostly it's my fault for having high standards; I tend to avoid rewards which are easily found or replaced, which in practice means I go for permanent upgrades and better egos and artifacts.

Finally got a worthwhile reward, but the real reward was the quest monsters themselves. And I get to do it again!

Back to lackluster rewards, which prompted me to start on a level quest--maybe that was a tad unwise.

8th Quest (Level): Orc stronghold, 950'

Level quest was easier than expected, due to spamming 'Life draining bursts' everywhere and generally making it a pain for enemies to get to me.

Now, to do it again.

I've got a good character rolling now, with stats and equipment that don't make playing feel like a chore. Next quest is for some Valar servants, but I'm a little wary--my last character to get somewhere in NPP had enough trouble dealing with a full pit/nest. I don't know how I'll handle an entire level of them.

Man, was that exhausting--I think I just spent 4-6 hours on that quest. It got easier as it went on, though, due to having a safe area to retreat to after the initial onslaught and due to finding a lot of stat potions as I was going through--I think most of my stats were capped just from the quest. Now that I think about it, however, my last character probably had a harder time with Valar servants because he was fighting the tier-two ones, not the lesser servants.

20+ permanent speed; INT, WIS, and CON maxed; 0% failure rates across the board . . . I think--I think I'm ready.

That last quest was sort of a pain, as all of the Greater Servants kept on teleporting me all over the place--why don't I get to save versus that? On the plus side, plenty of artifacts were dropped (in addition to at least four =Speed!), which prompted me to scum respawns for ?*Identify* again . . . good thing I did, too, because there were some upgrades in that pile!

I'll probably keep doing quests, though--or at least the ones that won't be terribly time-consuming. I'll keep deferring the rewards and see what comes up.

So something came up: one of the reward for this past quest was a druid spellbook I don't have.

However, I cannot learn any more spells, and when I look at the book, the info column for every spell therein says "Ironman Spell." What gives?

Also, I when I say "as long as I don't do something stupid," I mean like reading a ?SummonUnique in the middle of an Arena level; I ended up with Lungorthin and his posse in my face. I made it out all right, and with new weapon the provides *Fire, but there was a few close calls.

But hey, two immunities, all resistances, and all important attributes maxed--is there anything left for me to find?
