I'm posting because both of Shameful Death's predecessors both died (appropriately enough) to Freesia without escapes while descending to Camelot 5 for the Wargs Quest (couldn't afford escape scroll along with Word of Recall), but this iteration finally killed her. Good riddance.

I need to check when I can start using the 2nd and further Arcane spellbooks too...haven't 'P'erused those so I haven't known if I'd been high enough level to cast them, and thus should have bought from shop if available.

I might keep playing Shameful Death runs for a bit, we'll see. Still need to finish my comp 156 run and hopefully slay M. Got ~1.5 days on that.

Sad, only 11 on the ladder and I have the top 4! I think their melee is strong and they get every single useful end game utility spell you could want (Healing, Destruction, Haste, Detection, etc). They'll suffer from finishing woes that an 5 attack base melee build would, but I think there is enough stuff about these days that you could manage. Also, they are good with devices.

I would start with a melee build (17 Str/Dex 15? Int) and use early spells for utility (detect monsters) but not escapes. Throw your early stat boosts into fighting stats until you can survive stat gain and then park it until Int and Con catch up. Also, skeleton's are probably not the strongest choice and they have a huge end game liability you may not have noticed/realized yet. With Satisfy Hunger, perhaps a Balrog? Or if you like stealth, then High Elf or Vampire works. Or demigod, but they work with just about any class :)

They can afford to there, because detect monsters is super cheap. At least, they can afford to until Haste, Teleport Other, and (to a lesser extent) Identify gobble up mana points.
