My best effort so far. The boots on 350 ft. are really helpful. I may even survive warg ears now.

Not a pacifist, but killing everything lone and weak (centipedes, worms, insects) for some extra xp.

I wonder whether I should take channeling and hope for slumber staves instead of going for song of lorien, I am lightyears away from useful song skills unless I have some lucky finds.

Do not want to know what was on all the abandoned floors.

Scary. Did not kill anything for ages. So dangerous :)

Still, this is the sort of build anyone would use if they were just trying to cut a Sil and leave, so you'll probably get the first win (and if I die in my current game, maybe only win).

Just cutting a Sil (breaking Angrist on the second one) and escape is the only true to lore way to do this competition :)

It also would be my first Beor win, so I am happy even with 2nd, 3rd, 4th place - still I am far from assured success at this point. At least I am putting some pressure on everyone else, because you probably won't beat it on time. I think having Angrist and Leaping calls for a non-melee build. I would like to see your builds in progress.

Throne room next, put it on the normal ladder by mistake as well.

I am shaking... very very very close escape. Even lost Angrist (to Gothmog disarming me). Hope I manage the rest, I am scared of the next few floors - because of dead ends and the gates (a single trap, notifying everyone can kill me).

Cat assassin and Thuringwethil. Decided to try to kill the assassin, almost worked. Should have tried slumber but no guarantee as well.

Or should have shot at Thuringwethil hoping to driving him away? But the cat assassin was utterly unplanned, did not hear it through the door.

Maybe one point less stealth, but a shield would have helped as well.

Oh wow! I had thought you were taking a break after that last dump, but you went and died!

I don't know much about stealthy builds and what you have to not do, but if you could survive a hit or two from creatures, why didn't you have exchange places to get past things you couldn't kill or sneak past?

On 12.2.2014 02:24 taptap wrote:
That is a good question. I never took exchange places basically, would have saved me here. (And I wanted to take a break, but did not. See the result.)

Well at least it will take a win to beat this - you couldn't have got much closer to the line! Congrats!

Yes, it is the "best non-winner" on the main ladder as well.

On 12.2.2014 11:57 debo wrote:
Great run! Exchange places would indeed have been useful here, but at Con 3 it's always a risky proposition to use it anyways.

Thuringwethil is super nasty on the ascent for weaker characters... not sure Slumber would have helped much against her, I think her will might be quite high. The assassin would have almost certainly gone to sleep.
