Were you actually meleeing with Amrod? Shortsword + shield is rather bad damage output, even when stabbing sleeping monsters... you'd need Subtlety for it to be at all decent. I see you also had Anglachel and Glamdring in your pack, both of which are excellent weapons that would have been far better for regular melee.

I'm also generally not that keen on stealth in the first place, since it really eats a lot of xp that could be going to melee/evasion. For example you spent 14100 xp on stealth in this game, which could have purchased 2 points of melee and 6 points of evasion, say. (Your defenses were quite a bit worse than I'd like to have meleeing things at 950', but at [+25] or so they would be fine.)

It's certainly possible to make the stealthy melee playstyle work, but I've never had much success with it myself. You want a very different set of abilities to what you started out with on this char though, with stuff like subtlety, assassination, and cruel blow instead of flanking, charge, and zone of control.

Nice I will try that out : ) I guess I was trying to give my archery template a melee make over : )
