Killing the Balrog duo for example was fun but not really worth it considering everything I used. If I had just ignored them, I think I might've had an ok chance at 1000'. I might've been able to kill them with less resources but basically the levels were so crazy that I was chugging heals and stat potions left and right. Also not having stealth can be bad when you're trying to get a serpent to breath on someone and there's vampires and trolls and more serpents coming from every direction. :D

I also lost sooo much time on a couple of nasty levels especially later on in the game. I should've just left those.. Also so much useless fiddling with the smithing. Spending millions of years to clear a well-guarded forge and then forgetting that I need exp to make the actual items, then running around the level hunting monsters for that exp.

Well, it was a good run and I guess the smiths are quite fun to play but you really need to be careful with your stat restorations.. Next time I think I will skip every monster that would require me to use a stat potion and save everything for recovering from smithing and keep a bunch for 1000'
