Wow this dude's finding a lot of artifacts early. Especially the armour is awesome, free flanking?! And keen senses doesn't hurt either. I just hope I don't get myself killed with the gloves.. Hitting an orc champion for 7d7 damage is pretty awesome though :)

Looks like you have some of the best artifacts here. Stay sharp. :)

Well the game's trying to get me killed so bad. Just found Duruin, can I resist the temptation of LOOTS?

On 10.1.2014 04:41 djonih@gmail.com wrote:
Well that was a huge waste of resources, I tried but didn't manage to kill him.. Should've maybe spent exp on inner light instead of more evasion to maybe be able to see in his darkness. :/

So much good stuff.. I'm on a level with possibly some kind of a vault since treasure detection shows bunch of stuff and even an artifact bow in one spot.. Got to be careful at 600ft with Feanorian extra depth + vault OODness

On 10.1.2014 07:20 djonih@gmail.com wrote:
Cleared a couple of interesting vaults in 600ft. One had bunch of serpents and a drake (which I didn't kill) and the other was filled with cat warriors and some greater werewolves. Both were doable with a bit of kiting with Sprinting. Nothing that cool for loot tho.

I guess I need to start going further down.. The Lore-Master is so helpful when encountering new monsters so I should be ok :)

Dunno if going Rapid Attack was worth it but it's fun hitting so many times a turn (sometimes 2x flanking and either zone of control or opportunist)

On 10.1.2014 08:36 djonih@gmail.com wrote:
Yikes, I was considering going back to 700' from 750' since I was basically avoiding most stuff down there.. Lots of nasty monsters. A few squares from < I fell down to 800', uhh

I don't know if this character can really make it but I'm kinda glad I've got this far already. I maybe should've thought about what to do with crit resistant monsters etc. There are some things that I just can't even scratch..

On 10.1.2014 09:26 djonih@gmail.com wrote:
Well, I found this awesome +constitution armour and a unique deathblade. I'm a rogue who's wearing like the heaviest plate armour ever? The cat armour served me well up to this point but just skilling flanking is better at this point :P

Things are suddenly looking much better, the +1 Con from the armour helps, I finally realized I should carry a heavier hitting weapon with me for crit resistant monsters and with my stealth I can often waltz right next to monsters without them noticing, and stab them for a lot!(x11)

Feeling pretty strong right now, though I did spend some time "farming", cleared -900 and -950ft twice. I'm not really ashamed since it's my first time around these depths. Got so see some cool unique monsters too. I'm not sure if I have enough quickness/con potions for -1000ft since from what I've seen it can be quite crazy.

Also I'm not really sure what to spend my remaining exp (13k!) on.. Maybe some songs might help or just more melee/evasion

There is no problem revisiting levels in Sil. It is balanced so that you are meant to do so and you only have a finite amount of time before the endgame so it doesn't allow indefinite grinding at all.

Good luck with the throne room!

Phew! I made it, though I had no chance of killing Morgoth and I pretty much just got out as fast as possible after finally managing to pry a Silmaril from the crown. This took a lot of time, effort and potions and trying to lure Morgoth away from the crown every now and then..

After that the ascent wasn't too bad since I had some revelations charges still left.

I'm glad I found some potions on the way up since Carcharoth was quite tough (though I probably wouldn't have had to kill him?) I looted the chests at the surface for fun :P

Next time I want to try to kill Morgoth altho I'm not sure what kind of character that would take since I thought mine was pretty strong but still nowhere near killing him :)

Traditionally people would get Sharpness + Slaying with this setup (if you decide for an open fight). Sharpness is significantly less effective now so maybe you could try with Slaying only. Your defence is currently middling evasion and middling armour, I would tend to specialise a bit.

On the other hand you will be grateful for every point of will or partial substitutes (free action) you get your hands on and I would definitely wear the greaves and the crown if you go there for fighting.

However, you can approach the throne room in many different ways. And with your stealth open fighting may not be the best one, the aim is to collect a Silmaril after all.

Thanks for the advice altho it was indeed a bit late. Will be helpful to know for my later games.

I realized that I was in a weird spot with my skills so I just put all into stealth skills and tried to avoid fighting :)

Song of Slaying w/ sufficient song is probably the single biggest contribution to killing Morgoth for a char like this. It gives you a lot of bonus melee, which means both increased damage and free healing (Delmereth).
