Well either that was really dumb or really unlucky on my part.... or archery isn't what it should be....OR Trolls regenerate way too fast.
Honestly I was having much more trouble with Dagorhir than I should have. I had him down to 1 star...using flaming arrows. Really I'm more mystified than anything.
I took out Glaurung with rapid fire, granted I was buffed with Dex! and Str! I think something is way off when Glaurung was an easier fight.

Thoughts ?

Yeah even after looking at his stats I still don't get how he was even able to survive my barrage of fire piercing arrows...while i was hasted. Granted I was also using rapid fire, which I switched off. I don't know man this just feels way off to me. Granted those Cave Trolls took a lot of arrows to kill too. I had a hard time getting them to even chase me. smdh.

So I had a save scummed version of this character...got to the throne room, managed to see Dagorhir Elfband again...dead after four hits with flaming piercing arrows...granted I was at +25 for each shot and 2d9 vs 2d8...but still...I wasn't hasted or anything. Weird.

The Trolls, especially,Troll guards, in v1.1.x are tougher and regenerate faster (I think they do) than before.

Yeah, way too fast IMO...I wish there was a way to save the rolls, because I must have had really BAD rolls. I mean it almost looked bug like to me.
Also V is tougher too. But you can still kill him with enough arrows ; )

In order to survive against v1.1x Troll guards, you need ~22+ Evasion or *a lot* of protection.

Well my issue wasn't taking hits. It was how many hits Dagohir took. Then going into my save scum file and him going down in 4 hits. Versus him taking a bunch of hits and regenerating a star each damn round. Really ??? Like I said I wish there was a way to see the combat rolls.

Looks like Combat rolls should be incorporated into character dumps.

I lobbied for a buff to Dagorhir (and half seemed responsive) a while ago, because it looks like the weakest endgame unique to me.

Couldn't you sprint away and vanish easily and wouldn't Dailir for initial crippling shot help you a lot?

Taptap: I think it was just a ) weird dice roll's b ) Troll Regeneration...I hit him a bunch of times but every time I left him alone for a round or two he would regenerate A LOT, like Morgoth regeneration c ) he was down to 1 * and I was using piercing arrows and +23 bow should have hit him hard enough to put him down for the count especially considering I was using Flaming arrows.
I usually use Dailir for the finishing blow or when things are looking really bad. I was at full health btw before he hit me. Full health. So two blows was all it took.
But having said that its really more weird than anything. And I didn't want to get more distance between us because of his regeneration....
