After a short hiatus, I'm back to Sil, with an uber-strong Finarfin Melee-based character!

Down for the count! Now, I'm going to try to lug both the Hammer and Crown to the surface.

To elaborate more:
I started the fun by killing the vampire lord near the staircase without breaking tension. Then, as I walked into the West section I got noticed by a Troll Guard. Instead of charging into the Easterling spies, I took on a nearby Ancient Emerald Serpent first, which broke tension. Unfortunately, this was a bit boneheaded because one of the Easterling spies was let loose, who became the *whistle-blower*. I chased after the fucker, but was too late because Gorthaur made a guest appearance near the entrance, followed by some Troll Guards. I paid attention and immediately used one !Quickness and one !CON. With fighting this fool, I carefully used !Healing and Herbs of Healing. Soon enough, Morgoth, his buddy Gothmog, and two Unrelenting Horrors joined what became a Brouhaha! With more chaos happening, I started using !STR and !DEX. Gorthaur and the Troll Guards went down first. Early on, I had already knocked Morgoth's Crown. My Quickness wore off, calling for another !Quickness. Next, Gothmog went down. Same for the 2 Unrelenting Horrors. I had used up my remaining Herbs of Healing. Soon enough, it was me vs. Morgoth with an Ancient Adamant Serpents taking peek and breathing poison and that Easterling spy *whistle-blower* screaming for help while I'm trying to concentrate on Morgoth. I used a couple buffs from !DEX, !STR, and !CON, Herb of Rage, and !Quickness. Despite some Earthquake hits, I still managed to get my hits to count and knock Morgoth down for the count!!

Although it appears that I got the Song of Slaying and Song of Sharpness, I actually did not use them during the Morgoth fight. I already wiped out most minions before I considered the Song of Slaying. And, I ended up getting the Song of Sharpness after killing Morgoth.

Good stuff!

Why do you even bother with song of sharpness when you have a badass sharp weapon already? I'd guess that song of slaying, staying , este, or some combination of those would be more helpful? Staying esp. I'm guessing.

I was thinking having both would amplify the sharpness effect.

Took me much longer than expected. Tried to lug the Crown but had to leave it behind after running out of !STR and take out remaining Sils at halfway point. I kept the hammer with me at least.

On 10.7.2013 05:31 HugoTheGreat2011 wrote:
Another reason why it took me that long is because I forgot that I had the Song of Sharpness for taking out Sils. Of course, I had the Black Blade. But, there was no way in hell I'm using that to take out any Sil!

Once your weapon breaks the first time taking out sils, it's perfectly safe to use your primary weapon to take out the rest :)

Good game! I'm going to have to try dragging the crown out one day.
