As much as you can, try to flee down corridors you've already explored, that way this can't happen to you. I'd actually rather run towards e.g. an open room that I know has monsters in it that I've already explored rather than an unknown tunnel.

This is especially true if that monster exudes darkness, because if you get trapped you are REALLY screwed.

If you get trapped in a corner by a creeping horror like that, remember that they're slow (I think? Or is that a lurking horror?) If you have any !Quickness, drink that (like you did), then eat Rage if you have one (looks like you didn't), and then switch to a big weapon (your Bastard Sword wielded in two hands, for example). You might still kill it even if you can't see it!

Your Con here was awful so you were probably screwed in any case, unfortunately.
