world'. You are bent on vengence. The worms must die. After that a

Another one bites the dust... I thought Noldor were the 'easy' race...I suck at Noldor, don't know why. I just do.

A few comments based on this dump - hopefully helpful.

- starting stats are obviously based on how you intend to build the character, but I'd say that 1 Str is not enough unless you don't intend to melee. 3443 or 2543 are much more solid starts.

- =Protection are really good (and more so since they are subtracted from breath attacks after resistance has been taken into account). That one in your pack could have saved you.

- Your evasion is not really high enough for your protection (especially when facing giants). The game is a lot easier if you go heavy on melee and evasion to start with (aside from your initial allocation for artistry) before specialising more.

I also think Assassination is a bad idea for beginners until you get very strong (or very good at escaping) -- even if you have a build that is focused around one-hit KOing unwary characters. The reason for this is that it encourages you to pick fights that you would usually want to avoid, because you feel like "if I can just get this one good hit off, I can finish this powerful monster before it gets too many swings at me."

And with 9 stealth... well, you're not going to find many unwary monsters that way :) You may have taken it as a prereq to opportunist, which I suppose isn't crazy, but follow-through is probably better if you don't see yourself getting up to 15-20 stealth IMO

I'd definitely go with Psi's advice here -- by 400', you should be looking to have invested 10 points each in melee and evasion if you can manage it -- even if that means having to skimp on abilities.

Yeah, didn't know that was protection in his pack. Should have tried it soon as I found it. Logic with giants is they are easy to hit and do tend to miss a lot. Only problem is they hit hard...
I do find assassination makes more sense as a prereq for opportunist since I'm not planning to do much crowd fighting which is where follow through makes sense to me

There also are two unmistakable Giants you have to watch out for...Nan (GREEN) and Gilim (WHITE).

Both hit really hard. Gilim has poor melee accuracy like most Giants. But, Nan on the other hand, has much better melee accuracy (since version 1.1), thus is a lot more dangerous, and is scary as hell, even with high Melee and Evasion (17+ in both categories), yet he beholds the Greatsword 'Glend,' one of greatest Artefacts in the game.

The safest way to fight all Giants is to use Bow + Poisoned Arrows or Throwing Axes.
