Fired up 2.3.5 again for some dragon possessing. Tweaked the game to make Runecraft a FF reward, but no other tweaks. I had fun last time I did this, so I'm doing it again. Got a ridiculously good quest reward on BDw 10 when the princess gave me a RoS+7. :) Descending in Erebor looking for my next dragon body and looking for potions.

There's a command to fill the bottles from the fountain. I think it's either [capital] 'H' or [capital] 'F.' I forgot which one. But, there is a definite way of filling the bottles and IDing them. You can quaff, which is risky, by using 'q'

Continuing to go well. Found a !o*Healing* in Erebor and got 40 of them from it. :) Went down to the bottom of Erebor and got Glaurung to summon a GWoL for me to possess, but left Glaurung alone so I can maybe get the ring from him later.

Used GWoL to polish off Maeglin and then used my summoning power to pick up the GWoB I'm currently possessing. Tried and tried for a GWoP in the Maeglin quest (I've done it before), but had no luck, so settled for Balance. I'll finish up Mordor now and then head to Dol Guldur.

You can get a GWoP from killing Moldoux or from your own Wyrm kin while doing the Thunderlords quest (when you reach character level ?45).

If you really want, you can summon like a madman during the Thunderlords quest until Ancalagon shows up.

And also, *don't forget* to watch the Mana while you're going on a summon frenzy. You don't want to be kicked out of the body while in Angband or Mt Doom.

Had a seriously close call. I was in the Dim Gates, finally at GWoP depth, and I had a nice clear chamber, so I started summoning (I was in Glaurung's body) looking for a GWoP to possess. I was being really careful, watching my SP, except for the one time I forgot to. I got kicked out of my body. Thankfully, the chamber was cleared, so I didn't die from the elements, but I had no corpses lying around, I'd dropped all my eq and couldn't even pick it up again as a spirit. I had a GWoB corpse in Minas Arnor, but I didn't want to leave my eq on the floor, and I'd been auto-destroying uninteresting corpses with the Automatizer, so there wasn't even a corpse on the floor. I looked around for a long time, wondering what to do, and whether or not I should just pack it in and re-roll. Then I noticed a wand of Summon Animal. I got a Greater Basilisk and a Hellhound. I decided to let the Basilisk kill the Hellhound and crossed my fingers for a corpse drop and no breath directed at me. I had no offensive wands nor ability to cast offensive spells. What to do? I ended up throwing wands and randarts at the Hellhound until he got mad, then got the heck out of the way while the Basilisk took him out for me. Thankfully, the Hellhound targeted the Basilisk first and I didn't get caught in and breath splash. Lo and behold, the Hellhound died and left me a corpse, but of course, it would be lying on a pool of deep lava from his breath attacks. Well, I have no other choice, so I go ahead and step onto it, hoping that I'm on the right turn not to take damage from the move. I was lucky, and incarnated into the Hellhound. Picked up my dragon eq from the floor, wore what I could and carried the rest. Recalled to Minas Arnor and got out my GWoB corpse, which is where I am now. Couldn't believe I was so lucky!

You *really* need to watch the SP because it can be heart-breaking if shit hits the fan.

With a GWoB you start summoning GWoPs in latter Angband depths, and if you want.... when coast is really, really, *pick up* the extreme weight, and take it to town, and switch corpses then. just make sure you don't go hungry as extreme weight increases hunger by a huge amount.

For comparison, here's my Possessing-Loremaster:

It's a hell of one, just by looking at my damage...

Seek for more Nazgul Rings or Randart Rings with Extra Attacks. It will make your experience WAY more fun!

Another pointer: Watch for Sanity-blasting foes. Good to see that you have Superb Saving Throw. Having high WIS helps. But, don't let your WIS drop. If you encounter a Fumblefingers quest for, you know, Skull drujs, *skip this, please,* and move on.

Hugo, actually your saving throw does not depend on WIS, but on Spirituality. See this: http://www.killerbunnies.org/angband/skill-230.html?GBYPASS=E4282EC55A5FFD20B18A484CF0B01FF11365446190#spirituality for a full explanation. Thus, my 34 in spirituality, and sanity attacks are exactly the reason I put all those points there.

Got the ring. Now off to Mt. Doom.

You are right that Saving Throw depends on Spirituality. However, the amount of Sanity (755 in your case) depends on WIS. If you let your WIS really low, your Sanity would drop that low accordingly.

Gotcha. Sorry. I misunderstood what you meant. :)

Winner. :) Considering the void, but will go potion scumming and ring-scumming first, as well as offing the remaining ringwraiths before going in. I've got a nice +tohit, but I could use some more damage.

Sauron did not show up in Mt. Doom, so I had to hunt him down in Angband, which took quite a while before he showed up, netting me Nenya and Vilya in the process of hunting him. Also got a nice golden rod of the istari drop from Sauron that I made into a speed rod.

Fight with Morgoth was uneventful. I slowed him three times with inertia breath before starting melee, and used Runespell Armageddon Protection (my Runesone of Warding) to fill the gaps in the earthquake zone to prevent summoning. Between my significant speed advantage and the stunning from barehanded attacks, he really didn't even get in but a few shots, and my saving throw took care of most of those (Hand of Doom).
