Blood Axe. I don't like posting live ones...but never been this far. Have no idea what to expect. Found a nice axe and a few other nice items. Would like to take the smithing further but I think I need a bit more melee/evasion first. Not sure where to go with abilities. Suggestions??

I'd go for these, especially if you're going non-Stealth route, imo:
Sprinting - for quick escapes or hit-and-run tactics
Critical Resistance - To decrease chance of monster criticals
Crowd Fighting - Makes Crowds less problematic
Majesty - Makes monsters 'less aggressive' and more likely to get away from you as this lowers their morale
Heavy Armour Use - Will give you more effective protection, particularly Hauberks

Didn't expect to make it out my first time at 1000'. But there it is. The hauberk was a nice find half way through as was the artifact axe. Once he got enough light he mowed his way down pretty nicely. Not sure how anyone ever finishes the big guy, whacked away at him for a while but got low on healing so ran away. Very satisfying, now I need to do a Noldor...

I did grab Sprinting, made the race out a lot easier. Should probably gotten crowd fighting but never did. The boots I found are nice, Master Hunter comes in handy. Oh, and the mattock was just a wrecking machine...

Congrats!

Had a look through your notes and had a couple of comments...

1. Your only use of artifice appears to be to make the hammer that you never actually use? Was that just a lack of forges?

2. You say that Nargil is better than Angrist... Angrist completely ignores protection so is a fantastic find. Even with big damage builds I would often swap in Angrist against serpents and of course Grotesques. That is not to mention the fact you cannot fail to get a Silmaril out with Angrist.

Burkfelek! Awww, snuggies. I would leave my wife for Burkfelek. Nice run. I think winning on your first throne room visit is an amazing accomplishment.

Awesome work! That didn't take _that_ many tries, now, did it?

I've haven't found Burkfelek since all the other mattocks were nerfed in 1.01 or whatever :( WANT

I had hoped to play around with making artifacts. But found I needed a lot more smithing to make anything. So was planning to make several items to boost smithing and/or grace. Never found enough forges after making the hammer... Didn't know that about angrist or would have used it. The mattock seemed to do a good deal of damage.

On 22.3.2013 13:15 Psi wrote:
Nargil "cuts easily through armour" giving 50% reduction to protection. Angrist "cuts very easily through armour" giving 100% reduction to protection. It is the only item with that flag and neither can you forge one.

I totally missed that :(

Me too.. That's the first time I ever noticed the "cuts VERY easily through armour" part.
