I proved to myself that Morgoth v1.1.1 is beatable AFTER taking out 1 Sil + lugging Crown from Throne Room AND without Archery tree, Smithing tree, or Exchange Places.

Song of sharpness removes a percentage of armor, depending on your song score. According to the manual, the formula is

(6*enemy protection) / song score

such that you need a song score of 12 to get 50% reduction, 18 to get 66% reduction, 24 to get 75% reduction, and so on.
