Doing good for me and melee. Usually fast play and darkness are my worst foes, but I still live and now have 2 Feanorian lamps (one for throwing) plus Keen senses. Decent Melee, but would like much more for the Great Axe. Heavy, 4d5 and nice with Charge + Stun.

rFire would be very welcome, rCold helpful. Consumables too, I tend to get trapped and end up having to spend them. No longer at 1 light radius, so this should hopefully be much less frequent. Will probably start using songs for light again next time. Tend to get my feanorian lamps very late.

Never had Master Hunter before (see footwear), recently got it. Those boots seems a very good find. Especially since the [0, 1d3] mitril greaves were turned into lamps.

Don't usually survive at this depth with melee character. A bit uncertain on what to spend xp on. More melee and evasion would of course be useful for the next huge amount of xp. But I'm thinking maybe Parry considering I have Orcrist. Alternatively maybe I shuold start pumping Stealth? Not aiming for killing Morgoth, just need one Silmaril to get my gal.

Probably 'old news' for others, but... what does throwing the Feanorian Lamp do?

Helps add light to the area, or light up a part of the dungeon you can't see into. The lamp won't increase light level if it's in your inventory, but it will if it's on the ground!

It's like a lamp to the face. Enjoy yourself. I died wielding a magic lamp in nethack more than once... Good to know about dropping lamps... that seems, wrong, somehow, but I'll try it out.

I really like master hunter. It makes those large bonus perception rings pretty good especially if you have the other perception whap-a-monster goodies, like focused attack and concentration.

There ought to be some sort of chart, or graph, that shows you target evasion scores for a given protection range. +15 8-16 seems really dangerous to me. Spoiler page to the rescue?
