I only read the books for the first time this year and realised that Delmereth was pretty close to being Stormbringer. Perhaps you are right about being two handed though. But it does stop you dual wielding it with Mournblade!

a) Does song of Staying give some protection against fire/ice breath? I thought I remembered reading somewhere that your overall protection score actually applies to breath attacks.
I'm hoping to use it to mitigate poison damage (instead of taking poison resistance) and provide a bit of a boost on top of whatever resists I can find.
b) If you get an ability from equipment, does it also fulfill pre-reqs? (I suspect the answer is no.) I get Song of Slaying from Stormbringer, but I'd still have to buy Slaying or Trees to get Staying, wouldn't I?
On 22.10.2012 13:30 debo wrote: @half: I just discovered the series this year. I haven't gagged so much while reading in all my life. I just finished up the Weird of the White Wolf and I really don't think I can take anymore :)
Moorcock was quoted somewhere as saying that the early Elric novellas were usually written at 15k words/day and then sold without any editing, and then all of those novellas were basically glued together to form the longform novels. So, I am unsurprised at the quality :) He carried the whole series on the then-unfamiliar image of an albino playboy with a bigass evil sword.

As you guess, abilities from equipment don't work as pre-reqs.
And I'm glad you're enjoying Song of Slaying. :) We tinkered with it a fair bit to try and get it to be enjoyable and an appropriate power level.

Do you mind showing me what you need to change in the code to make this happen? Also did you add that artefact in from scratch or did you modify and replace an existing one?
