Celegis started out with only one focus - Evasion. That was enough to slay Gorgol who had a very hard time hitting her. Soon thereafter she found a curved sword of defender and took parry.
No problems staying alive but the low melee score meant long fights and many wasted rounds and of the first three torches there where only some 50 rounds of light left before a few Easterlings dropped two more.

Fighting Orc captains and Boldog with Melee 8 was slow but with evasion 22 it was almost safe. Also the high Evasion made Parry very effective. Orcobal also went down without much of a scare.

But further down Celegis was forced many times to fight desperately with single digit HP and also to go downwards quickly. Once she fled through a room full of @archers with just a filthy [+1] rag instead of the [-2] armour and then make a halt (5 hp left) to start a fight with a fresh Troll and a Giant, still wearing the fithly rag. The alternative was a heap of nether worms.

Even though thanks to excellent Evasion and some luck she has managed again and again to survive, the last levels down was forced, and very unsafe travel.

Celegis is not quite ready for this depth. Still, just before the file dump she just picked up another +2 evasion (new cloak, the old one was ruined by a horror) and has enough XP for another two or three points of evasion. Of course there are options - Lore mastery would be nice, more Will too. Definitely more Melee. But I'll probably go with Evasion or possibly Lore master. But crowd fighting would match the whirlwind attacks from the Fury blade ... time for a break.

Fun! You're definitely at a depth where evasion alone won't save you -- kemenrauko earthquakes and dragon/serpent breaths are nasty, for example. (By your notes, I see you're already discovering this :D)

Also, as you're finding, there are some common monsters with 25+ melee, which means they will still hit you about half the time :)

If you could, keep a Greatsword on standby, particularly Glend, as they do good damage.

Your experiment seems to have worked out well. A couple of disadvantages of the high evasion approach though:

1) evasion is halved against archery
2) all high defence approaches use more turns for combat

R.I.P. Interesting experiment, but not strong enough to survive these depths. Great fun though!

It would help to get Critical Resistance from the Will tree in times like this. High Evasion is still possible Fingolfin character.

Nice try; it looks like it was a decent character.

I think I disagree with Hugo about Critical Resistance. Your Evasion is high enough that they won't be getting too many criticals anyway, and your Will isn't high enough to be of massive help.
