You have always loved Luthien, and when you heard Thingol agree that
Beren could marry her if he brought back a Silmaril, you saw your
chance: you'd just have to go and get two.

Decided to try the throwing mastery thing again, and it has resulted in one of my favorite Sil early-games so far.

Everything has been pretty skin-of-teeth. Now that I've got the hang of switching between Trees, Elbereth, and the Shadow Cloak, things are going a bit better. I could really use finesse, but I could really use a lot of things, so I'm trying to focus on building up Melee and Evasion. I'm sort of worried of what will happen when Elbereth loses its effect, but with Trees and the staff of Gondolin, I should be able to drum up enough light + fear (alternating) to keep things at bay.

I don't see how I'm going to survive Wargs, though. Eek :)

Wargs are smart enough to respect Elbereth. At some point another point or two in Song might be worthwhile?

The goal I have been unsuccessfully building towards with my attempts is weaving Elbereth with Mastery.

Heh. I've never had much luck with Mastery, so I wish you well in that.

I forgot Wargs are intelligent -- that definitely helps. White wolves were giving me nightmares at 150'.

I'll probably dump a couple more points in Song soon, but I would like Finesse to help with my throws. (Actually, tweaking Power so that it adds 1+ to the range of throwing weapons would be neat :D)

Or even having Charge stack with throwing, with a range boost -- makes sense that giving a running start to a throw would give you more oomph behind it.

Sing Trees -> throw everything -> sing Elbereth -> pick back up -> GOTO 1

I can't even count how many floors i've been forced off of :)

That was the slowest death ever. I ran out of voice, and basically stood in a hallway blocking for umpteen turns trying to scare things away so I could get to the stairs. Eventually I had 11 wargs, 10 orc warriors, Orcobal, 3 easterling warriors, and 4 orc archers all trying to get a piece of me.

I eventually got bored and waded out of the hallway trying to get to an alternate exit, where a distended spider killed me with poison lol

I don't think I'm smart enough for this competition, guys! Short of going archery, which isn't very exciting anymore :)

Should have mentioned that an orc captain disarmed me, too -- was forced to stab with my best throwing weapon.
