Beren could marry her if he brought back a Silmaril, you saw your
chance: you'd just have to go and get two.

OK, I think I've officially identified 350' as my "stop fighting" point.

On the topic of trolls -- I was melee'ing a troll with the crummy melee and evasion seen here, and it had one red star left before it got a good hit in. I really think they could use a teeny buff :)

Sample size of 1 and all that, but still!

PS I'm posting every competition character I attempt because I like to have others laugh at my stupidity :P

If you really want to melee, then wear the shadow cloak and sing trees!

But it's so loud :D

Remember that Orc and Trolls are light averse, so singing Trees will help anyway. After I've found a torch I've also had fun preparing the ground by dropping the lesser jewel on the floor.

Yeah I've been using the jewel as a "light mine" too! It would be cool if singing trees made light sources explode :D

@Scatha - is the light averse, just a morale thing?

On 11.10.2012 17:15 debo wrote:
No, it also hurts their melee and evasion IIRC from the code

Morale, Melee, Evasion, Will, I think. Possibly Perception (but it probably shouldn't). For Will, note that this means bright light will help you avoid status effects from undead.

The penalty is for each point of light on their square above 2. So a lantern in a lit room is enough to start it.
