Beren could marry her if he brought back a Silmaril, you saw your
chance: you'd just have to go and get two.

Example of an approach that doesn't work. Thought it would be cool to use Elbereth to get things off my back and throw shit at them, but I didn't notice how low my dex was until I got to 100'.

PS Throwing mastery could use a buff, I think. No one ever takes it. Even a small boost to effective range would be good.

I think on my next run I might just take song of silence and sneak my way through.

You say this approach doesn't work, but what went wrong? It looks like you died by trying to fight orcs in melee (also without a cloak or shield).

Melee is too low -- I was rarely doing damage. A better approach might be to sneak around at first, build up a bit more melee and evasion, then dump points into throwing mastery. Also, it's heavily dependent on what you find sitting around the dungeon :)

Just wanted to say that I tried this clouded-style and it's tough! (But fun.) Not really that much different than the way I start stealth-stabbers, but even more fragile. I like!
