Sigh....I got killed by a freakin' Troll Guard. Pretty damn weak. I didn't think that he could do THAT much damage. On the other hand as you notice I had no real game changer artifacts...basically this was one of those what you get is what you play. I didn't even get my first artifact until I was down at 750 ft. RNG was pretty cheesy and not having any brightness made my really vulnerable to all the darkness monsters in the game. It kinda sucked. I guess what I'm saying is that I think I did pretty well with what I had. I don't think that I could have killed Morgoth with this character anyway...so it almost felt pointless : (

Oh and I died at 0 health too...I could have used a healing potion...but again like I said look at that turn count. Really not worth it. I just wish I hadn't wasted my afternoon on the game.

Oh and I found my first artifact at 800ft. I did have a nice Gondolin sword that helped with the early game though....

Taking Inner Light in addition to Keen Senses would have helped with darkness monsters.

LOL. I thought that I HAD inner light! I guess I forgot to take it...I had been using a light staff to see the darkness monsters. Having said all that RNG was really cheap to me this game. I almost ran out of light at one point...plus like I said...if I can't kill Morgoth its almost worthless for me to finish the game.

BTW I had inner light and Keen senses! I just had a low light radius.

You know the aim of the game is not to kill Morgoth, right? If you think it's almost pointless if you can't do it it's definitely a sign that that fight is too easy ...

I'd argue that it is too easy if my first win was a Morgoth kill, and not with spectacular stuff. I suggest perhaps adding a bit more protection, maybe a couple of long-range abilities along the lines of those spoken about(songs, slowing, paralyzation) or perhaps other ways to force players to actually make a real effort to kill him, but not make fighting him lethal.

Scatha: Of course I know the aim isn't to kill Morgoth...The first time I killed Morgoth was in this version. With archery. Notice I didn't pump archery up because I already won that way. I was also getting crappy gear as you can see. Look at my turn count!!! Only one artifact in all that time?

Phillip: I don't know when you started playing, but in the early days of the game only a few people were able to kill Morgoth...now it seems like the thing to do if you have been playing for awhile. Honestly I never would have even tried to kill him but I noticed that I was able to get him down to 4 * and that inspired me to try and kill him. Which I did with another stealth archer : )

In regards to killing Morgoth, although many have killed him with Archery/Stealth/Song/Smithing, very few have killed him in style with just Melee, as the primary offensive. :)

See that that is what I'm trying to do. However I will be using stealth...I find that I just get into too many fights without it.
