I'm kinda out of my comfort zone...here.

I forgot to mention finding Aegnor which comes with Concentration. Concentration is pretty damn awesome and really helps if you are attacked from both ends in a corridor since you will eventually be able to kill the monster in front of you.
This game has been a good learning experience for me.
