Another non-stealth Melee character that is quite strong. Although my equipment looks good, not to mention Anguirrel, I am very low on consumables. I'll have to scum the last few levels for potions.

I just dug into this area that had TWO Great fire-drakes breathing on me. Fortunately, I was still alive, thanks to Double Fire Resistance, one from a Ring of Frost and the other from the Long Corslet of Maedhros.

Can it get crazier than this?

Too low on consumables, but took the chance on Morgoth. I knocked the crown on first hit with Nogrod and got the first Sil with Anguirrel on 1st attempt. But unfortunately, Gothmog helped Morgoth double team on me. I fought this one in style with my remaining Herbs and Potions..

With that shortbow, it may have been worth putting 1000xp or so in archery. With +3 arrows and !dex, you probably could have shot V and Gothmog to slow them down. I didn't do any math to confirm that, though, so don't take my word for it :)

I could have given Archery a consideration. But, given my playstyle, I just like to hack and slash anything that stands in the way. Hence, total Melee.

Yeah, I just feel like that bow was designed to supplement characters like yours -- you take a few shots to cripple your opponent (not to damage them), and then you take advantage of their slow speed and hack them down :)

If the uniques in the throne room are chasing you down, slowing V while you deal with e.g. Gothmog may be a viable approach!
