Somewhat successful Smithing character. I focused on getting a Dwarf Mask + ID and a Greatsword with better hitting bonus, and not much else. I picked up Listen too, which is really helpful in letting me know where dangers lie.

Any suggestions on what else to forge before meeting Morgy?

Note to self: Get Vanish (before I forget).

With your archetype, which I often dabble with, I usually nab knockback simply because your two handed weapons are just about guaranteed to get yon enemy the hell back. My approach is to litter the floor with bodies in the opening staircase room with rage + knockback. It's gratifying corpse stacking fun. It also works on Morgy and proves handy in lots of melee situation.

Continuing on...
I had a close call with the Great fire-drake & Great cold-drake. Having attacked the cold one once it started fleeing away. But then, it casted confusion on me. I recovered with a Potion of Clarity. Then, the fire one woke up. I picked up Knockback and use the Herb of Rage immediately to knock away both of these chumps, and escape out of that area.

After that scene, I picked up Vanish for my safety. And just now, I found the Pair of Boots of Finrod!!

Encountered Turkano and his troops at 900ft. With Knockback + Great Axe I'm using he was a pushover, at this point...

You know, it just occurred to me that with all these new Balrogs barging around now, Rauko-bane might actually be super useful!

Just found Calris at 900ft, but there's one problem:
My inventory is so *overloaded* that I have no room for Calris and I need a 2nd opinion. What should I toss out?

Hmm, it's a good thing I have extra Rings of Warmth. Spoiler: Calris = cold vulnerability

Great axe of final rest seems the most useless to me. You seem attached to it though lol

I'd be wearing Fingon all the time. Sure you lose -2 evasion (and probably some stealth) but +1 Gra and Con is hard to argue with. Is stealth even doing anything for you right now?

On 28.9.2012 06:35 HugoTheGreat2011 wrote:
I like keeping the Great Axe of Final Rest because of the hit dice, but looks like it might not be heavy enough to do its best work.

Stealth is working, kind of, so that the monsters are not noticing me right away, and I can move around. I might consider getting 11 points on Stealth, and get that DEX point boost. Exchange Places is a possibility too.

Damn.

Got caught between Gothmog and Morgoth. Though I had the chance to use the Herb of Rage, I kept thinking I would get killed the next hit.

Oh shit, I FORGOT about Exchange Places, AGAIN! No wonder, I had so much difficult in this situation.

Another stupid thing was I left that Jewelled Crown of Feanor. I also forgot that this aggravates. Another thing to add to my 'no wonder' listing.

What's funnier is that I DID spend EXP to get Exchange Places. For some reason I don't know why, I always FORGET to use to it when I need it most, such as this.
