Playing around with a critical hit specialist smith. The new crown rules make for some interesting early game options. Freeing up the weight normally used by a digger as well as ID has been really helpful with the low STR.

And a dumb death. Cornered by Snow Trolls, used too many potions, rested in a dumb place, and was finished off by Wargs.

This is a crazy strong character for 450'.

I've always wanted to try getting Archery up high enough on a melee character to get Crippling Shot. That new Death's Sting bow looks great for that as well.

Very cool stuff here.

Never thought of putting Song of Freedom on anything. That looks like its worth doing - good thinking!

I wonder how loud song of freedom is, compared to smashing doors down. At least it doesn't stun you!

According to the manual, slightly stealthier per turn (4 noise vs. 5 or 10 for bashing). I mainly took it to not need a digger, which is a fairly big deal for 1 STR. The new crown rules meant that my usual utility hat with just loremaster would have been difficulty 8, so I pretty much had to think of something else useful for it.

I have this tendency to play either way too cautiously or way too aggressively/dumbly. This guy died to the latter. Resting in a nice long corridor with line of sight, swapping to my wolfslayer when they showed up, herbs of rage... so many ways not to have died there.

For a stealthy character, Song of Freedom is _much_ quieter than bashing doors. It reduces your stealth by 4, but bashing a door down just straight up makes noise -- it's not modified by your stealth.

(As to a first approximation there isn't a quiet way to knock a door down.)
