At it again...the drops haven't been as good as the first two games I played. But not too bad either.

And now I'm back at 950ft...I'm not sure if I should pick some uniques off here or leave them for later. I'm right by Oroduth which would be tempting for me if I were more of a smith...But there are a lot of uniques near by...what to do,what to do. Honestly if I had a sharpness weapon I would get a Sil and escape...but I don't so scum I must.

I think most characters can get one without any form of sharpness, but maybe not this character, since it has both low Melee and low Strength.

I think I'm ready to get that Sil. Although I am wondering if I could kill Morgoth if I buffed up my archery a bit more...Hmm. I'll sleep on it.

Balrogs are tough...the toughest uniques so far. If I weren't able to buff myself up Vallach would have made short work of me. As it was I had to run from Gothmog.

I tried to take on Ungoliant...but she almost killed me, however I was able to escape. I think if I had a long corridor I could kill her...

Did it. I noticed that Morgoth noticed me a lot more often this time. Which made for a tense game since I discovered that Morgoth can trap you with earthquakes. Lucky for me I was able to escape after foolishly trying to bring him down with a rain of arrows. Although i will say that I did get him down to 3 stars : )
The throne room was really easy this time. Probably the easiest time I've had...and the reason for that, is that I pumped up perception more than normal so that I could actually find all the secret doors and traps : ) I'm pretty happy with the sniper that I built. I came behind Morgoth (since I found the secret door behind him) and shot his crown off after two tries. He didn't even get close to me. After I shot the crown off I ran, up the secret side corridor, which I would have had to use my staff of freedom if I didn't see the secret doors. I then when right up to the crown in full sight of every one; buffed dex and str and after about 10 or 15 tries I got a Sil. I tried about 5 to 10 for a second one but no dice. I decided that I should just run and try for a quick escape. I usually scum around for better gear...but I don't really see a point to that anymore. So I ran and I actually just killed anything that was in my way rather than avoid them like I had in the past.
Towards the end Morgoth was dogging me hard, but I was able to escape him. Once I was attacking Lungorthin when Morgoth showed up...that sucked. But Lungorthin followed me up to the gates. While he didn't go down as quickly as I thought he would, he still died.
Honestly I still think that the game is really awesome and while the new Balrogs make it a bit more deadly, you don't have to fight them like I did. You can avoid most of them....But I can see a lot of characters without sprint and or a quickness potion turning a corner and getting killed by Vallach. Vallach had me sweating since I couldn't get away from him and finally wore him out with arrows.
Another thing is that I did find a lot of arrows towards the end and didn't have to forge any after I forged them once. This is a good thing.

Yes, he does notice you more now. All monsters get +5 Perception during the escape, and Morgoth now gets +5 Will and +5 Perception when his crown is knocked off (as well as losing all his light and [1d4]).
