So far so good! My eyes are getting bleary so I'm calling it quits for now. Some observations:

a) The charge nerf isn't super bad, because a lot of enemies that used to have higher-than-expected prot have also been nerfed. Wargs, easterlings, serpents -- all easier to kill. Molds are more of a nuisance now, since you can't just OHKO them out of the way. Certain escapes are more difficult because of it as well.

b) I'm finding tons of light. 3 lanters and 2 flasks of oil before 500'. Hugo seems to have experienced something similar?

c) I feel like I'm gathering more stuff in general. My inventory is filling up faster than I'm used to -- possibly because I'm encouraged to hang onto more weapons?

The super-heavy greatsword I found is saving my life. Charge is actually useful with it. Charge + finesse might actually be good for something now!

Great fun so far. The monster adjustments have really helped the survivability at shallow depths, IMO. (Sample size of 2 :D)

I think the frequency of light sources is unchanged from prior v1.1, but that's just me.

Just watch out for the new_bad_special_items, because they can be _nasty._

Looks like my v1.1 Feanorian is going to have competition soon.

I've got lore-master now, so I should be OK :)

I'm pretty sure we haven't touched lanterns/oil, or the total amount of item generation overall.

The new specials are nasty -- but fun! Or at least that is the theory.

YASD... wasn't paying enough attention.

FYI: Gilim has become a more "interesting" monster. I like the new version a lot better. Watch out for him :D

Your forge finding was basically just luck there. One was probably from the new distribution, but that made the others less likely so it balances out...

Easterling warriors gained a point of Melee and Easterling archers lost a point of Archery.
